My class always make an accident during Chemistry experiment

We did a thermochemistry experiment
We need to burn the alcohol to calculate the mcdeta
So
Someone in my class accidentally made the bunsen burner wet
What happened?
A very super flame produced
Just like a rocket fire
All screamed.. = =
The lab nearly burned

Then
someone broke the thermometer
Actually
The mercury in the thermometer is hazardous
